hey

hey. i have like 40 uncopyrighted songs whcih we could use. and i agree with sam, i just have some concerns, lastweeks progress on the amount filmed, if that is guna be the same progress as this weeks were guna really struggle to make 5minutes =[

ive edited most of the pictures with teh cop cars, guna do the rest today guys and ill edit it in tomorrow after our DVD session.

really like the stop motion from yesterday sam. looks great. =D

kev.
if you can watch the car chase scene from Bullitt, got some really good ideas on sound and what we need visually. if we could get a piece of non copy righted music just to go in the background it could make it sound better.
for visual, over drivers shoulder, close ups on face both from the front and at the side. we could do it from the front outside by putting some blue paper behind the back window and if you make the camera wobble it gives the impression the cars moving. saw it in a film last night so if we did that for like under 4 ish seconds the audience won't notice. shots like looking up at the drivers, so the camera is like in the drivers footwell.
we will need to do stuff like this today.

hi, just wanted to say i thought the last bit of stop motion went really well today just need to wrap up the real life footage tomorrow, but that should be no probs. had an idea for a shot, for the real life footage for when the cars jump off the roof we could move the camera forward and lower the angle to create the impression of the cars moving faster and so as not to see the cars slowing down.

Close-ups

I think using lego men in the stop motion is a really good idea becuase we can get some reaction shots to the car chase. I also think we need some reaction shots in the real footage part. Ive had a look at that clip from Casino and I think we should try and create something simular to that. The character looks really anxious and paranoid and it adds tension the the scene. This will also padd out the first scene and create continuity between shots. Another idea I had was maybe using abit of dialogue for the real footage. Again this will add tension and show the characters emotions.

we are missing people!!!!

check this out, I have looked at loads of stop motion car chases so far and they ALL consist off TWO things: one, cars crashing into each other and two, PEOPLE! we have no people, pedestrians or anything! I dont have any toys on me at the flat, but I wanted to see if we could edit some in, they dont even have to look good or realistic... CHECK THE LINK BELOW... its funny - if push came to shove we could draw stick figures or something... let me know

POP ART

Looking at what Kev has shown me today on the Mac, concerning my "pop art" idea, your way was the best way to go, I wanted our film to look playfull and so forth but it looks cheesy in a proffessional way, it looks neater and a lot better, thanks for taking my idea and improving it, I think we can all agree it looks better!

so annoying!

I just wrote a load of stuff on here and it totally vanished!

I was thinking as our film is basically a spoof, I thought it would be a fun idea to do an " Extras" bit at the end, it won't be time consuming because we can jus use clips of the footage we already have and perhaps interview each other on what went well and what didnt, its just an idea but I thought it would be something different from all the other groups! we could also use clips and pictures we have taken from our phones! think about it and let me know!

BY THE WAY

Nicola. just thought id share something with you. hopefully you will like it. its your idea taken further which we could easily edit in.
\/

looks much better in full resolution.

kev
had an idea for another sequence
on one shot have the helicopter appear in background, then go to a p.o.v of helicopter catching up a chasing cae, then go to a reaction shot of one of the drivers going "oh shit" etc. this will tke up some time then the helicopter could crash into somthing, maybe a thunderbird? whatever

PROJECT =]

Hey Guys.

Really like the green screen idea. thing is it needs to be really well lit. rekon we could get that studio area? if we could that would be great.

edited all of the pictures, this is the sort of thing it looks like, took ages cos when i first did it you couldnt really tell so i had to over emphasize it, hope youse like it.

the image was a gif but didnt work =[ but as you can see its the cop car lights. looks alrite when it moves. and storyboarded in words the stop motion sequence. so i know how its going to date.

we need to do more though. guna mash the footage together this week. had problems with sams hard drive though., its formatted as FAT32 so you cant transfer big video files so i couldnt do anything with the actual footage without disrupting the file and making alot of files go offline and thats why i edited the most time consuming thing. the stop motion.

also. you guys know how we made the cars jump with the sticks, i have tried to edit it out but using the clone tool it doesnt look that great. but i think they look fine the way they did so....

but i have two options on how we can get rid of them, one being really time consuming and re shooting that scene but shooting it with no cars so that the layers can be over lapped and the sticks can be erazed or maybe changing the picture in final cut using 'transform' and zooming in a little. ill have a little fiddle this week. but personally i think its really minor and that we should consintrate on getting all the stop motion and real footage completely shot this week.

also harriet how you coming on with the sound etc.
i know its not really any of my business as im not the production manager, its just a growing concern thats all. been thinking about this project all week.

hya, thinking for stop animation, does anyone have any zoo animals? so the chase could go through a zoo. does anyone have subuteo? so likewise they could drive through a match and maybe even score a goal. also thought we could break away to like a fast & furious esc street race but our car chase cars win.

Green Screen

After looking at the footage today we definitly need some reaction shots from the characters in the car. For an A-Level project I used chroma key to create a background that moved behing the characters. I think we could create a basic animation for the car windows. I have had a look on you tube and found a video that shows how you can just use green paper and then pick the colour out to animate on to.

Heres the link;

The program I used was Macromedia Flash player, if we think we will have time we could use this to create a simple animation to match the set we created.
